These dramatically handsome and sleek desks by Peter Protzman for Herman Miller were only produced for two years, 1970 and 1971, in zebrawood and chromed steel.
This is the slightly smaller version of the two desk sizes that were produced, with a 27" high writing surface, making it a perfect keyboard typing height.
It's size also makes it an easy fit for a home office.
This desk derives from the estate of its original owner, who used it as a companion credenza for the larger version of the desk until two decades ago, when it was put into storage.
The molded plywood case wraps around to create a finished back.
